I am a self-published author. I say that with a lot of pride. Why? Because I had the courage to share my words with the world. I believe every person should have the opportunity to tell their stories. Self-publishing allows all writers to be equal and not stopped at the gates of a few publishing companies. I love to read. I love diverse opinions. I support self-published authors and encourage people everywhere to self-publish if they are inclined. My book is called Ageless Bride. Recently, I was trolled on social media by a woman who claimed a self-published author has no character, is not a serious person, and only publishes for their own ego.
Trolls are more than ridiculous. They are toxic. Their bullying is a threat to creativity and will silence voices of people afraid of this kind of rebuttal. I wrote my book for the over 50 woman so that she may celebrate her everlasting love with the same freedoms and choices that the younger brides enjoy. In my book I feature famous fashion designers including Zac Posen, Isaac Mizrahi, Betsey Johnson, Guo Pei, Vicky Tiel and Ellen Christine Couture among many others. They help me encourage the over 50 bride with styles and inspirations. Beauty is not in numbers but in hearts.
I wish for brides over 50 to have no limits and let their imaginations soar as they celebrate their day.
I wish the same freedoms for self-published authors. I support you. I encourage you. And I will champion you!
